Bruner, Frederick Dale. A Theology of the Holy Spirit (1970). A good discussion of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament. Max Turner’s The Holy Spirit in the New Testament Church and Today (1997) includes the O.T in his thorough discussion. However, Anthony C. Thiselton’s remarks in his The First Epistle to the Corinthians (NIGTC, Eerdmans, 2000) should be read as a partial correction to Turner. Turner, also, and unlike Bruner, is open to a non-cessationist view of the special gifts of the Spirit.
